Open-air theatre in Zermatt

Premiere

Humor meets history

Matterhorn: No Ladies please!

The open-air theatre Zermatt returns to the Riffelberg with historical comedy «Matterhorn: No Ladies Please!». Livia Anne Richard directed the first two plays for the open-air theatre, and both were a huge success. In 2019, she tells the story of Lucy Walker, a British woman who was an exceptional mountain climber. In 1871, she set out to do something that no woman before her had done: climb the Matterhorn.

«Matterhorn: No Ladies please!» is the story of an extraordinary mountain climber whose courage and sheer determination helped her overcome the resistance women faced during this era as she changed the world for female mountaineers.

From mid-July to 1 September 2019, historical comedy «Matterhorn: No Ladies please!» will be shown on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7.30 p.m. and on Sundays and on 1 August at 3.00 p.m.
